Series Overview

Discipleship Resource:

Ideal for small groups or Sunday school, with Bible study outlines that encourage conversation. Each session includes smaller games, illustrations, discussion starters, and Going Further activities to extend discussion and build on application.

Session 1:

Priorities (1:1-15)

God’s people have neglected rebuilding the temple, prioritising their own comfort instead. God commands them to resume the work, leading the people to restore their fear of the Lord.

Session 2:

Motivation (2:1-9)

God’s people are feeling discouraged as they compare their rebuilding efforts to the grandeur of Solomon’s temple. Haggai encourages them to be strong; God is with them.

Session 3:

Grace (2:10-19)

God’s people were half-hearted in their building work, continuing to experience God’s judgement. Yet, despite their defiled efforts, God surprisingly shows grace, replacing curses with abundant blessing.

Session 4:

Victory (2:20-23)

Haggai speaks directly to Zerubbabel, promising him God’s victory, entrusting him with kingly responsibilities, and pointing us to the true and eternal King, Jesus.
