Colossians is a fantastic book to study one-to-one. This series explores the core themes of the letter, focussing on our identity in Christ, spiritual growth, and everyday Christian living. The sessions are designed to help you understand your young person’s beliefs about the gospel, deepen their appreciation for who Jesus is, encourage reflection on their faith and maturity, and inspire them to continue growing in Him.
New Life in Christ (1:1-14)
Paul writes to the Colossians celebrating their faith and salvation. This session encourages us to reflect on our own faith story and the security we have in Christ. It’s a reminder of the power of the gospel and the importance of staying confident in our salvation.
Faith in Christ (1:15-23)
We dive into the greatness of Jesus, who is supreme over everything. This session helps us see how Jesus is central to creation and the church. We reflect on His role and how it impacts our lives, encouraging us to worship Him and remain rooted in Him.
Mature in Christ (1:24-2:5)
Paul talks about the mystery of Christ, revealing that salvation is for everyone and that we can personally know Jesus. This session highlights the importance of spiritual maturity and the need to stay grounded in faith while avoiding deception.
Complete in Christ (2:6-15)

Freedom in Christ (2:16-23)

Alive in Christ (3:1-11)
We look at how to keep our hearts and minds centred on Jesus. This session explores how we maintain a focus on Christ and put sin to death, emphasising a genuine relationship with Him.
Clothed in Christ (3:12-17)
This session turns to positive traits we should put on, such as compassion, kindness, and patience. We compare these qualities with the previous negative behaviours and explore practical ways to support each other in growing in godliness.
Together in Christ (3:18-4:1)
Paul teaches on how each of our relationships are transformed by the gospel. We explore how the positive traits we have put on applies to each of our relationships.
Witnessing in Christ (4:2-18)
The final session centers on the importance of prayer in our spiritual lives and in sharing the gospel. We discuss how to pray effectively, seek opportunities to share our faith, and respond wisely in different situations.
