Discipleship Resource:

Ideal for small groups or Sunday school, with Bible study outlines that encourage conversation. Each session includes smaller games, illustrations, discussion starters, and Going Further activities to extend discussion and build on application.

How to Use This Series:

This series is designed as a flexible collection of one-shot sessions.

Each session stands alone and can be used to fill gaps between other teaching series. Alternatively, sessions can be grouped together to form a complete character study series, exploring how different individuals respond to God and live out their faith.

Every character comes with a collectable character card. Individual cards are included in each session’s download section, with a full printable card page available in the series download section. These can be printed and added to the collectable sheet, or inserted into the downloadable PowerPoint slides, helping to create a sense of continuity and cohesion, even when sessions are used weeks apart.

Lydia

Acts 16:11-15

Paul and his companions travel to Philippi to share the gospel. They meet Lydia, who hears the gospel, has her heart opened by God, believes, is baptised, and then lives out her faith by serving the church.

Rahab

Joshua 2

As Israel prepares to enter the promised land, the spies meet Rahab, an outsider living in Jericho. Having heard of God’s mighty acts, she responds with fear, faith, and a request for mercy. Rahab is rescued from destruction and unexpectedly becomes part of God’s saving plan.

Bartimaeus

Mark 10:46-52

Bartimaeus recognises Jesus’ greatness and his own need, crying out in faith for mercy. Jesus responds with compassion and power, restoring his sight, and Bartimaeus follows Him. His humility contrasts with James and John (Mark 10:35-45), who ask Jesus for positions of honour.

Bezalel

Exodus 31, 35, 36

Bezalel, the artistic craftsman, is equipped by God’s Spirit with the skills, abilities and imagination to follow God’s command and serve His people.

Cornelius

Acts 10

God speaks to both Cornelius and Peter, revealing that the good news of Jesus is for Jew and Gentile alike. Cornelius, a Gentile, hears the gospel, believes and is baptised. Astonished by what God has done, Peter realises that God shows no favouritism: everyone who believes in Jesus receives forgiveness.

Deborah

Judges 4-5

In contrast to Israel, Deborah courageously trusts the Lord, speaks His commands and leads His people. God defeats the enemy, and Deborah’s song celebrates His sovereign power and the courage of those who stepped forward, while condemning those who shied away.

  1. Evangelism: Designed for youth club settings, where you’re looking to spark interest in Jesus and explore the gospel together. Each series includes an interactive talk and group discussion outlines, along with games, crafts, discussion starters, and Going Further activities for diving in deeper.
  2. Discipleship: Ideal for small groups or Sunday school, with Bible study outlines that encourage conversation. Each session includes smaller games, illustrations, discussion starters, and Going Further activities to extend discussion and build on application.
  3. Mentoring: Tailored for one-to-one discipleship, with Bible study outlines that support personal growth and accountability. These guides include discussion based starters and Going Further activities that dig into specific topics from the study.
